Tommaso - Lone Pine, I think, is the town where the graves of victims of the big quake in the 1800's are right next to the highway on the north end of town. Lotsa history in those towns along Hwy. 395: Lone Pine, Independence, Bishop. I love the trip from where I live going to Tahoe, skirting the eastern Sierras. You probably didn't enjoy it as much then, though. :-) R
