Note that I said Win2k was the (almost) perfect successor to Win98. No mention of ME.

Btw, why the heck did they remove the DOS feature? (I understand there is now a hack to bring it back). It's not like it was in the way of anything... they apparently decided to remove the DOS shell feature just for the heck of it. Sigh...

For some reason, the box makers agreed to preload WinME on their systems

Microsoft to OEM: "Ok, from next month we'll no longer be shipping Win98."

What's a box maker to do?

Of course, this will not be the case when the Hamster ships - Microsoft and everyone else will have 100% tested and guaranteed OS, Driver, Compiler and application support for the 64 bit Hamster from Day One !
