The problem with 3G... (hope this hasn't been posted before). redherring.com. Perhaps the reason that no killer app has emerged yet is because consumers don't want one. In a couple of new studies, consumers were indifferent to a host of services expected to arrive along with 3G networks. And, what's worse, consumers consistently chose lower costs over added functionality.

Q earned about a buck per share in fiscal '00 and is "comfortable" with forecasts of about $1.28 for '01 and the stock is trading in the 50s. Not too long ago I pissed off whoe bunched of people by saying AMCC lied and BRCM lied. Well I believe I was correct. I do not believe any of this guidance, projections, targets etc. Look at CSCO, now crying as if cutting rates one month earlier would have made a difference. One month earlier, they were saying "possible slowdown for a quarter BS, praying for a miracle to bail them out". Every damn one of them lied praying for a miracle. Been through this time and time again..... I keep saying they will warn or they are liars. CIEN is biggest liar of the bunch right now. CIEN falls to 20 when they fess up. Hope I am lucky enough to be in PUTs at the time. As for those projections on Q, They are liars. M
