And exactly who leads the market for database and enterprise applications software?

Certainly one could point to SEBL or SAP as leaders in certain areas of the enterprise software biz, though SAP is not as great a leader as it once was (deservedly so, IMO). Nobody else has the reach of ORCL in those spaces. Long term, they're a winner in the space, without a doubt.

The only question is what valuation do we assign to the dominant company in that particular space? How much is the whole space worth in the long term? And how quickly will the market recognize it? The last quesion is the one that is most on my mind, as I tend to think that the slowdown will take longer to resolve than many people believe, and that tech stocks will be very sluggish in their move out of it.

Some ask why this stock has fallen 60% from it's high? I wonder how it ever got that high!

I appreciate reading negative opinions about stocks i hold, but a little more substance would be welcome. Could you please furnish some reasoning behind your bearish sentiment?

Stick with the market leaders and you will be happy
And exactly who do you think the market leader for enterprise database software is?
Microsoft? Not a bad choice if all you need to keep track of is your baseball cards or recipes. The only real alternative to Oracle in the DBMS space is IBM.

Orcl will go the way of Informix.
And whose door will Larry go knocking on to demand the return of his employees?

Don't ever bet against Oracle! Message 15207392
And I promise I will not be whining about my investment in less than a month Message 15353941

I suggest you read the article about Jonathan Lebed in last Sunday's New York Times magazine: nytimes.com
The only sure way to get rich is to post about thinly traded penny stocks on Yahoo!

I don't want to be disrespectful: but you tell me ORCL
IS NOT a market leader? This is the world's 2nd software
company and is in much better shape than the world's
1st software company. You gotta be joking. Anyway, I
read from your profile that you are short term player...
so who are you to give advice about sticking to
market leaders: you probably never stick to a stock for
more than a month!

<Quite frankly, I am not interested in Oracle at 17,15 or 13. Some ask why this stock has fallen 60% from it's high? I wonder how it ever got that high!>

Finally, this pig is about to go to the barbeque. Soon, very soon, this one trick pony will get it up the ying yang and rest comfortably below 10.

Respectfully,
