James,

I have no firsthand knowledge of the dude, as he was in intensive care. He was blown through 1/2 plate glass and after multiple gunshot wounds passed out just a few feet from my mother and sister. He bled so much that is formed a puddle on the basement floor directly under where he was shot.

He lived and is now a born again Christian and active in some church in either Detroit or Pontiac.

The sad part is that it all could have been avoided. As I understand it, the police yelled for him to STOP several times, and in several peoples backyards. Still he didn't and kept jumping the fences. At my mother's yard he ran out of fence or energy and place his hand on the doorknob to my mother's sunroom/atrium. At that point the police opened fire, and you know the rest.

Guess what he stole to start the whole chase and shooting ordeal? A stinking bike. What a moron.

Anyway, I got to see the house the next day and it was a mess. Lots of bullet holes and broken glass in the two rooms on the other side of that sunroom, but the police had to do their job. Bullets go right through walls. I was pretty amazed at that. I remember thinking, how do the cops know that there is not a bedroom with people right behind that wall they are shooting at?

You were very lucky when you came home and the moron was still there. You never know what the caged animal will do. I agree alarms are a pain in the butt, but its probably better to put up with it, and the occasional false-alarm charge, than to be without.

We completely agree on the last four points. Esp the part about keeping the government in line. Lots of people say that is just a classic "right wing extremist" thing to say, but I disagree. And no land force in the world is ever just going to waltz across this county if they elected to invade. They would suffer great losses from coast to coast. Probably never happen, but I am certain that foreign aggressors would have at least considered the resourcefulness and "will" of the American people.
