Finally some space between nasdaq and 2000. Now this market should be able to digest bad news for awhile as it waits for some good news--signs of a turn, fed easing etc.
I am begginning to think we will get a half of a "u" shaped recovery from a bottom a lot less deep than most folks now think. And according to AG today, the surplus is now hurting us so a tax cut is definitely needed. And I will go along with dem provisions for weighting relief at the bottom. Demand side more important in short term. Rate relief on top and end of death tax need to be modified.
Think of the Surplus as a a piece of white bread used to slop up the gravy(bubble excess) last year. Worked well for a time. Now the white bread has no gravy to slop up. Its dead money in the hands of government. Surpluses can only hurt in times like these. Money needs to be spent responsibly by government(oxymoron) or returned to taxpayers. MIke
