It isn't any one error Richard. It's the entire apologetic tone of your posts. You were using aliases on the Suite101.com board because you were fearful that he would find out and boot your subscription?

Who's the customer, him or you?

It's that kind of thought process, IMO, that makes everything you say very suspect. That's not so much a problem of facts (although they certainly do count) it's more a problem of the lens through which you view Bob.

You start off with a concrete conclusion, again IMO, and take incredible pains to prove it regardless of how the facts stack up. To me that's a credibility problem.

That's somewhat different than the credibility issue with some of the other posters here. Those who admit not even knowing what the current discussion is all about? They have ZERO credibility left IMO. Amazing admission I think.

Richard Palm,

Re: But every time I admit an error, Rillinois acts like it means I'm wrong on everything.

Not necessarily, I just think that your credibility when it comes to Bob's past advice and initial recommendations is near zero. Especially since you later go on to admit that you didn't have all the facts in the first place.

You have on a few occasions made specific conclusions regarding Bob's advice based on misinformation. You've gone on to debate your point in the most confident manner only to admit later you didn't have all the facts. Why don't you search for all the facts first before posting conclusions? Ask questions to those who have shown they might have access to those facts before you make your conclusions. Ease off on making conclusions about things you know you don't have all the facts on.

Re: This whole, "Richard admitted an error, so he has no credibility" approach is just plain silly.

No, it's this whole, "I (Richard Palm) make conclusions about Bob's advice without all the facts and still want to be viewed as credible" approach that is just plain silly.

It's not making mistakes or admitting errors, it's jumping to conclusions without regard to the truth.

Best Regards.
