<<Fans of sharpshooter saint lobby Vatican >>

They should be lobbying for Ed McGivern. He could pull and empty two revolvers into a playing card in less than a second. 5'2" and 240 pounds, he didn't look like a gun fighter but he was the best ever.

>>Speaking on the saint's feast day, Mr Snyder said making Possenti the patron of handgun owners would show that the Vatican was "courageous enough to stick its neck out for the right of individuals to defend themselves against evil and tyranny".<<

Excellent. Some get it, some don't. "If only," they cry, "we outlawed privately owned guns, then all these terrible crimes and accidents wouldn't happen." They don't seem to ever get the point that the laws that are already on the books don't prevent crimes OR accidents. Even worse, the first thing that a totalitarian state does when it comes into power is take away all the privately owned guns - THEN it starts killing citizens. The ones who get it have the extra burden of defending themselves against the ones who don't.
