I agree there are many people who consider themselves vegetarian who do eat some animal form(s) or another. I have mellowed in my old age and am not a "militant vegetarian." I think one's health above all should be the controlling factor in any diet. And I know that oily fish in the diet such as mackerel, tuna or salmon have shown to reduce heart problems in 40% of senior citizens. Of course, you can get similar benefits from flax seed oil (which I use).
However, even with the healthiest of diets, one can still get sick, have injuries, or genetic disorders...but I like to refer to all the news reports we hear, when I talk to people about being a vegetarian...and those reports are when talking about some new discovery for better health...the bottom line is always eat more fruits and vegetables
...NOT EAT MORE COWS AND PIGS!!!
