I noticed AMD mentioned maybe in 1 commercial (out of many). They bought AMD when they couldn't buy enough Intel parts. They showed AMD based parts prominently, when they couldn't get enough Intel parts, and when Intel parts were hopelessly outgunned. ---Oh, I see. Since YOU noticed maybe 1 commercial out of many, that reveals the entire Gateway strategy. All hail Joe Halada.... The new barometer of the Computer Industry. Thanks for letting me know about your "promotion" Joe.When the demand collapsed (Q3), Intel supply improved, and Intel was finally able to ship 1 GHz. Gateway got back in the bed with Intel. This period of time coincides with the time when Gateway fell flat on its face. Late Q3 through today ---Right, by then it was too late for them to turn it around. If their AMD products had been selling so well, they would have been able to sustain themselves through the shortages. I see they were not. Go with AMD trumpet it all over the media, and rub intel's nose in it..... Good strategy...... Not.Let's see what the new P4 is doing for Gateway: Shares of personal computer maker Gateway Inc. (NYSE:GTW - news) sank on Thursday, the day after the company forecast a first-quarter loss and said it had lost focus on its customers.dailynews.yahoo.com Selling P4 can definitely cause you to lose touch with your customers. They will not show up. ---You show a 1 day chart and expect that to prove your point. Yeah Joe, I can see that you're a real "Wall Street Wiz". Oh I know what it is, they can't get rid of that excess AMD inventory that's laying around. Thanks for the insight. While I was searching for Gateway news, I found out what the P4 sales are doing to to the loyal ho (Dell), who knows who the boss is: [external] Dell to lay off 1,700 workers - at UpsideTodayrd.yahoo.com *http://www.upsi... [external] Dell Falls Short - at The Motley Foolrd.yahoo.com *http://www.fool.... Joe ---It's not news to anybody that the High Technology and computer industry is having bad times. Wooops..., maybe it's news to you, since you only seem to have found it necessary to point out Dell's problems. Since you recently accused me of being a "FUD" spreader, I'm SURE that you wouldn't do the same thing yourself.... Now would you....
