LOL! There is some truth in that last part! And the other thing is that you will find most people who do family research are very bright, alert, and vital... It sounds like such a "musty" thing to do, and trust me, sometimes the things you get excited about are "musty"....but I also feel sometimes as if I am being "guided" to find some of the things I've found. For example:

--in home office one evening, writing bills
--reach in bookcase to put something away
--a book falls out...
--one of those books that comes from Bath, OH that says
--your family tree (insert a name--)
--only reason I bought it was the name I am searching is rare
--I opened it again after not looking at it for many years
--inside are addresses from all over the world
--there are 4 names and addresses of people of the same name
as the one I'm chasing from a tiny little town in Germany
--in the time since I bought this book, and the time it fell on the floor
--I've found the name of the little town in Germany my people were from
--Voila!! I am now able to connect the town name and the last name, and so
--I write to the German folks
--We are related. They didn't know about us either. I and now they are working on the connecting ancestor, over l80 years later!
--AMAZING!

These family reunions can get really big. The Commander's family has one every June, and it's amazing to watch the kids we don't see from one year to the next change.

I like to look at the pictures. It seems everyone brings an album or two. We also bring lots of spares to swap. So far, I've been able to remember all the adults, most teens, and some kids. The kids are the hardest because they resemble one another so much and their energy keeps them a blur.

Cheers, PW.
