I would not characterize it that way, but I understand. I think that I am reasonable in saying that if it is bad enough to die, it should be bad enough to overcome your fear of death. I believe in stringent tests before taking drastic measures, when it is possible........On assisted suicide, I do not know why you would not be troubled by the likelihood of abuse. But so be it.......

I would extend that (logically) to any life (form) that can experience suffering. I just don't get a humane approach to people without extending it to all animals. What makes people so special that they should be treated so well? Nothing, IMO, other than it is always hard and takes imagination to identify with suffering that occurs because it is convenient or one is just indifferent to it.
