isopatch,
Your link reminds me of the dark days of the oil patch. I wasn't playing a lot of oils back then, but I liked SESI.
Picked it out about 7.5 and rode it up to near 12 where I wisely sold. I didn't have the feel for the fundamentals of the oil patch and its cyclical nature that I have picked up since thanks to the SD thread and many helpful posters here. So when it hit major support I started buying around 8. Doubled up around the four area and got out on a small rally for a substantial loss (35%). Thankfully, that's the only OSX stock I held at the time.

Shortly thereafter I discovered the SD thread and the light began to shine in a dark place, but it was a good while and much learning later before I bought an OSX stock again. During that interval I watched with amazement while SESI got down to its lows. I couldn't imagine the amount of overreaction that was visited upon these stocks and imagine it was due to the fact that for all the hubris about buy and hold even then, it is pretty much a dead concept even with institutions.

I suspect that the same overreaction is yet to occur with the tech stocks despite the relative optimism and hubris about values. This market cares not for values but bottom line performance and yesterday at that!!.

Best Regards,

Roebear
