If you took an image of your hard drive right now (10:08 PM) then installed a bunch of programs, then restored the image you took before you installed those programs, your computer would be like it was at 10:08 PM. It takes an EXACT copy of every single thing on your HD. SEE: Message 15361970 When I said in that link it doesn't back up data like other programs, I meant it doesn't back up file by file, it takes everything on the partition you are imaging. Whereas a backup program copies the files, not the partition. Think of your partition (C: or D: or E:, etc) like a dinner plate. The meat, potatoes, and corn on that plate is the data. With drive image you are making an exact copy of the dinner plate, and thus everything on it. When you back-up files, you are copying the meat, potatoes, and corn.
