Paul, Ah...that AMDroid Mantra again "Potential" !!! There you go. How do you think AMD's track record on the 760MP will play out for "potential" customers? Probably as good at the 860 Colusa chipset. Do you think those customers will look only at the cheap prices AMD will offer? I guess they will evaluate performance as well and arrive at price performance - another important variable to consider. And - since the volumes are comparatively low with respect to Desktop CPUS - and AMD's only lever is their cheap CPU prices - just what will AMD have to gain by entering this market ? The prices are higher with chips with larger L2s. Definitely higher than current sub $100 ASP. Cool - and I'll bet that 30% covers the HIGHEST margin Intel XEON CPUs !! But the same chips go to some of the Dual machines. Intel may be in an interesting situation when if it is forced to compete with it's most powerful chips with Athlon in Dual space. How can Intel charge more for the same chip when it goes to 4way box? The chipsets is Serverworks'. Joe
