Quantum mechanics "sounds" wrong to people who try to extrapolate it to the large-scale physical world. I don't recommend trying to walk through walls with your physical body. However, consciousness appears to be generated from the QM world and not the macroscopic world. There is absolutely no reason why it should be intuitive or obvious using the kinds of analysis Neo uses. Is it live or is it Memorex? I have only heard "I have a dream" via recorded or electronic media. That doesn't make it not real or qualitatively affect the content.

I can guarantee you, without being gooshy or mystical, that there is content beyond the modulation of temporal magnetic field fluctuations when that is played back. It is transcendent of the original source and speaker. I'm floored that people don't see that this transcendence is, not just possible, but probable, even without the human experience modulating or receiving it.

That sounds alright, but you said something about our "essence" persisting. Of what does this essence consist?
