Meaning and purpose are the result of design. If there is no ultimate Designer to the world, then of course everything is just a great big ink blott, and we are free to ascribe any meaning or purpose to life that we wish. All bets are off. We face the same basic problem in the area of morality. Without an ultimate reference point, the proximate becomes meaningless. However, if there is an ultimate being who designed and controls everything then it is He, who determines the true meaning and purpose of Life. Greg
