Not only is it ok, it is PREFERABLE! On sch D for description write "see attached statement" and show the totals from the schedule, which you attach at the end of the tax return.

the TTax side of the answer is pretty easy, if you haven't figured it out already...
when you get the CG portion of TTax, enter in the relevant net summary info
(sales price, cost basis, gain/loss), and select force ST or force LT
that's it.
