Victor:

I am not taking issue with the right for gun ownership. Of course anything sharp or hard (a hammer, a brick) can kill a person. But it does not have the impact of an assault weapon which in an instance can takes so many lives. As I posted earlier: in foreign countries, the victims are people who the killer(s) hates. In our schools or post offices, the victims were those who happened to be in the vicinity.

Victor,
Guns are too easily available to people who should not be having them. On top of that, their use is glorified in movies and video/simulation games. All it takes is a gentle nudge on the trigger for disasterous consequences that cannot be undone.
I believe (potential) victims rights should outweigh (potential) perpetrators rights.
