Scumbria:

As i said earlier, the US of A has the weakest gun control in the western democratic world.. it seems to have worked fine in Canada.. gun laws are in place and the populace hasnt been enslaved by their government - crime isnt running amok. (I believe its generally accepted that crime is lower up here)

Is it perfect and does it stop every gun crime? .. nope.. probably not.. but It sure helps reduce it.. and if you take a poll of the nation's citizenry, I would bet most would prefer what we have up here to what you have down there. We have a few rednecks out west and some farmers who whine about it (a lot of my relatives are farmers before anyone accuses me of anti-farmer bias) ... but the gun lobby is very weak here and with almost no influence at the federal level.
