Dear AJL: hey, he was smart enough to get elected, hehehehe. imho we need as President, honesty, integrity and a reasonable amount of HORSE SENSE. You hire the BRAINS which is obviously what Bush has done. Even most Democrats admire his Cabinet. As to Charisma, he sure beats that Dem. VP Candidate whom I understand is going to attempt a run at the Presidency in 2004. I forgot his name already, but you know, THE WHINER!! JDN

dear dear dear AJL, my my are we snitty today. But what did democrat former Mayor Koch say about stumble, a stutter, an opportunity to strangle himself.....

The feisty Democrat, who's making a rapid recovery
from a recent heart attack, also had some
surprisingly kind words for President George Bush
after his State of the Union address on Tuesday.

"It was a home run; he was magnificent," Koch told
Bloomberg News. "And what was interesting was that
the Republicans and Democrats stood and applauded
him. He had an enormous number of applause lines."

While he thinks Reagan and Clinton were better
speakers, Koch said, "There is a genuineness to
[Bush] that is very, very affecting in a very
positive way

If you want to understand how bright President Bush is.

AJL:

"How about intelligence and charisma, both of which Mr. Bush seems, shall we say, lacking"

I have said it before and I will again to all of my dem friends. Don't believe he is dumb. You need to know your opponent's strengths and weaknesses to defeat him. As long as the dem strategy is based on the belief that Bush is dumb, we cannot succeed. If we want the White House back we need to face the facts. He is not stupid. He is making the right moves and between Clinton and him the Dems are in total disarray. Solution, first ostracize Clinton from the party. As long as we are perceived to be the party of Clinton, we are dead. Second, don't fight him on the issues that are popular. We need to go back to the real roots of the dem party. Fairness for the middle class, reward hard work and make our Government work. People are tired of schools that don't teach, bloated and inefficient military, the likes of Linda Tripp making 100K salaries, etc, while we dems whine that a tax cut will reduce government services. Our strength has always been to use the government to do good. But many perceive that we are taking their money and wasting it. It is time to make the government work.
