Tim, (etal)

I think they have little to do with this. Note that even with the greater availability of guns we have more non-gun murders then most other countries.

An observation. American society deplores nudity and sexual acts on the television, but green lights violence with little regard for the impact.

As much as I hate to say "blame the media", I really have to blame the media for the problems in the US at the moment. School shootings are becoming more and more likely after each consecutive incident. Why?.. Well I think one reason is the incredible amount of coverage they get on news casts, etc. Kids mimic what they see around them (I have 2, I know).. If all they see are students shooting other students I don't think it takes a rocket scientist to figure things out.

I'm not suggesting cencorship or the v-chip. I deplore both. However, some forethought when creating programs for public consumption could go a long way. Why is it, that they only way anything is resolved on TV anymore is with a gun?

Regards,

Steve

What is the disconnect here? Is that suppose to make me feel better? What can I say? Violence begets violence.
Are we supposed to give it up? Let everyone carry a gun?

And please don't even start with the bull about the Constitution and the right to bear arms.

Kindof hard to have a discussion if I can't even start to express my ideas beliefs and opinions.

A hundred years ago women could not vote. Two years ago American citizens could own slaves. Times change, circumstances change. What was acceptable in one era, no longer works another.

Its time to change the belief held by the NRA and the others that the right to bear arms meant everyone should carry a weapon. It no longer works in a society that is as urbanized and as dense and as mobile as ours.

Save it for the ones who send you $$$.

Who's sending me money? Why am I not recieving it. I could use some right now. <g>

I know you could...so could I. <g> I was hoping for your sake that the NRA was providing kickbacks. They do sit on a pile of coin.
