I saw more recent numbers from a presentation last week -- at most electrical generation now accounts for 16% of NG usage -- and that's all year.

I don't think that there will be any tightness in the summer, but if prices do spike we'll be in deep stuff for the next winter season

That 16% moves to about 25% if about half the nat gas gen projects get built that are slated for the next couple of years. Coal prices are going up too -- a secondary effect of natural gas prices. More marginal coal plants are being brought back and some upgrades and so forth have become more economic now ...

A couple of months back I had a visit from a fellow from the UK. I was surprised to find out that over there NG plants dispatch before coal plants --
