I think that it is the easiest road to take, rather than placing blame. If he gets the public putting pressure on their representatives to use tax cuts to save the economy, they will eventually geek. I just see it as a way to grease the skids....so to speak. There is no question in my mind (whether true or not) that Clinton will be blamed for the bear and that Bush will get the credit for fixing it. I don't for a second think that it is that black and white, but I think that the public tends to boil things down to black and white views. And the public will forget what happened in the economy for the first 7 1/2 years of Clintons tenure....all that will matter is the last half of his term (economically speaking).
