fwiw, i tried out a 17" monitor (1280x1024) for a day and half
and just switched back to my laptop LCD (1024x768).
a number of different reasons, but there was a definite glare
and images was not as sharp as on my laptop LCD.

Esteban,
Just a thought, but maybe the type and placement of the overhead lights can effect it, also maybe the distance from eyeball to screen, I am aprox 35 inches to the 17 inch CRT's and about 31 to the LCD...
