Tim: lack of faith in the courts? Thats odd... last i looked.. the conservatives were in the majority on the US Supreme Court. I submit to you that it may have more to do with the fear that if they go to court and lose, they'll end up basically getting a ruling more or less saying that the 2nd amendment is invalid - which is the crutch everyone in the gun lobby hangs on to protest against gun rights. PS -Slightly on a different note.. I dont buy the argument that Jim Macinnis and others have stated on here saying that you cant implement gun control laws because there are too many guns out there.. Canada has the 3rd most guns out there - after the US and Norway.. I dont know the numerical difference.. but gun controls up here seemed to have worked.
