Off topic, Amy!

<I feel confident folks of character will not "stampede to the door" with respect to Ali's sexist post just because it isn't related to supporting their preferred political Party.>

It could be just because a lot of people have Ali on Ignore. I had to take him off Ignore to see what he wrote.

If I were you, I would give Ali's comments as much attention as it deserves ... none.

Amy - Re: 'Do you have any comments for Ali's sexist post? "

Let me suggest that you ignore Ali.

That guy is beyond hope.

<Kap, you implied I didn't criticize Clinton for his conduct. As recently as 2 weeks ago>.

Great, how about during the 8 years before that?

<I trust you know the significance of a silent "stampede to the door." >

As to Ali's comment, feminists in this country can scream bloody murder at a suggestion that discrimination may not be the reason for female under representation in the "power" circles of our society. At the same time feminists would often ignore horrendous crimes against women in the third world countries and explain them away as "there are cultural differences and who are we to be judgmental about them" moral relativism.

I would suggest to you that maybe the reason why women in this country don't occupy as many high power posts as men is that they have different priorities.

I will give you an example. Why do you think that almost half of the world's chess grandmasters are from Russia? Is it because the rest of the word is stupid? Of course not. It is because the rest of the world does not try as hard to excel in chess. They have different priorities.

Amy,

Regardless of how it may offend you, he is entitled to his opinion. I may not agree with what he says, but I will defend his right to post opinions over your "right" not to be offended.

And RE: . And absolutely disappointing if this Thread doesn't get into gear and take offense with his incredibly sexist posts

There are MANY more important issues than someones sexist posts on an internet bulletin board.....my advice is to get over it.

Amy,

I was going to respond to Ali's post but I realized that I would be wasting my breath. It's true that silence can be construed as tacit consent but I for one found his comments to be ignorant and below contempt.

Re: "Kapkan and Elmer, RE: Stampeding to the door
Do you have any comments for Ali's sexist post?"

Amy, Ali was the first person to grace my ignore list. I don't see his posts. There are others who are irritating but worthwhile because occasionally they post something of value, like Scumbria. Ali offered no value. It was apparent some time ago that he is a very bitter person so why waste time on the like?

Amy J,

What's wrong with Ali's point? Childbearing and nursing deprives women of 2+ years per child in their career.

Do you know how much double crossing, a$$ kissing and politicking men can do in this time?
