Perhaps there is a schism - a very complete schism- between people who need absolute meaning and people who don't. I find meaning minute to minute. My breakfast was delicious. I found a lot of meaning in that. I found enjoyment in my breakfast- which brought me happiness, and that happiness had meaning for me. A tomato that looked a little bit like the profile of a little girl in school I taught last week made me think of her- and that brought me enjoyment. That little girl and I had a real connection over a book- it was a pleasure to see her enjoy a story that I picked out just for her. The memory had meaning for me. Even if that little girl is run over by a bus today, I enjoyed my time with her when I was with her. That is meaning in the moment. Who needs more than that? Not me- but apparently some people do. Planning for the future is great, but I don't build my home in the future, because I live in the present. I may never reach the future, it's meaning is not my meaning.

I love reading your posts Solon. I don't know it I tell you and Kholt and Cosmic and Thames and Win how much I enjoy you all. You give meaning to my present moments. Thank you for that.
