I gave the evidence in my previous message:

The web makes it possible to steal hundreds of thousands of credit cards in one fell-swoop. This has already happened. This was here-to-forth impossible.

Your waiter cannot run away with hundreds of thousands of credit cards... He doesn't get to see that many in his lifetime.

Dangerous to who?
Not the holder as he is protected against fraud (out of pocket $50, max, usually $0)
Not the cc company who has already projected losses to fraud in its 19+% interest rate.
The only one its dangerous to is the thief if he gets caught.
