I've heard about 20% of the population have much higher reading when taken at a doctor's office than when taken elsewhere. I know mine goes up about 10 points.

My wife has hers monitored at work because it's so low, 80/60. On a recent visit to a doctor she had to wait over an hour in a room with screaming kids. She had a reading of 150/90 and the doctor prescribed medication even though my wife told her the reading from work.
