What if AVNX is at $15 on April expiration date? What is your % return at that point? There is no guaranty that AVNX will be anywhere near your purchase price on that date.

I'm certainly not wishing bad things upon AVNX since it is one of the 23 stocks held by a mutual fund that I have my money in.

But I think by now most of us have learned that this is not a market to be counting chickens before they hatch.

<<I was looking AVNX, it's basing nicely. I just bought at 21.5 and wrote April 22.5's (guh-dx) for 3.625, or 16.8%...21.5% if called.>>

Nice!! Heck, your almost better off hoping it bases and you dont get called....keep writing every month for the fat premium and before you know it, your cost basis will be like $3 and you can tuck it away and forget about.....

I was thinking of buying back some leaps I wrote in january, simply because they are all cheaper and it would uncover everything, while I made a 50% profit on the cc's i wrote and bought back....BUT, I think I will wait and chill....no hurry I dont think....all the leaps are 02's and all are strikes that are over 100% higher then current price....so just because they are cheaper then what I sold them for, I dont see why I should jump the gun and buy them back now....maybe if they drop some more and get real cheap, but hell...rmbs jan 100's....jdsu 60's......just not in any hurry to buy the calls back....I hope come january I have to worry about rmbs being over 100 and etc.....
