Perhaps the frequent thread posters could post their earliest political recollection. My earliest recollection was V.E. Day followed by VJ Day 1.Army/McCarthy hearings i believe in 1952. I was seven and we lived 3 generations in an apartment in the Bronx. Grandparents were really fearful that McCarthy would become another Hitler. Very disturbing for a youngJewish kid who had already seen some of the concentration camp newsreels. Another one of my childhood terrors along with nuclear sword of Damocles. 2. 1954 Willie Mays making that catch in the 1954 world series. Not political but it offsets #1 so it is important to me. To this day I love Willie Mays.
