Mani,

re: Silver lining

I think NSM is a poor proxy for AMD / Intel as so much of their product is high margin analog.

It is clear we have a major demand problem.

it is clear economy of US and Japan may get worse.

It is clear that there is way too much inventory in SEMI's.

In some cases as much as 7-8 months.

And the bad news is not out yet IMHO.

I have always thought Q2/Q3 would be bottom.

I suspect Q1 actual reports will be brutal.

And with poor or no visibility.

Q3 naturally should be up.

I currently no hi-tech stocks.

If naz drops to 1800 or so I will just buy QQQ's next month and sell covered calls to ride further downturns.

regards,

kash
