I hoping there are enough smart Republicans to join with the Democrats and no democrat crossovers to stop the planned tax cut. I am hoping an alternate lesser package which has some Fiscally responsible republicans with authorship gets passed instead. In essence the alternate ties tax cuts to deficit reduction payments. No reduction payment no tax cut in that particular year. Thus the Republicans would be forced to be fiscally responsible, pay down the debt and have some left over to get a tax cut. Their record shows that this has not their strength of late!
