JDN, thanks for your invigorating note. As a person intimately familiar with the defense dept and the funding and the needs and the waste and abuse, it concerns me deeply that we are even considering that we need an increase. This both sides of the aisle have concurred. I assume once the Bush administration is done going through all their bogus analysis they will come up with a great need to increase defense er ah offense spending as much as the budget warrants and continue to bs all of us as to the threats. Unfortunatley, many dems and most republicans concerned about their own defense pork barrels will wholeheartedly agree. It is just unfortunate that a great country like ours needs to waste so much money when we have looked everywhere and still can't find a formidable enemey or even an enemy!
