Hi Steve, I have been catching up on my reading, so this is a bit late. But in case you haven't found a spreadsheet solution, I suggest you take a look at Quicken 2001 Deluxe. It has two relevant features. First, you may be able to directly download your transactions from your online broker (depends on who you use). This includes choosing which lot to sell based on tax considerations. Second, you can check what the tax impact will be ahead of time based upon your particular tax situation. It also makes Schedule D a breeze at tax return time. I teach the program to a user group and I know a lot of folks really enjoy these features. Larry M
