You made some points. Something to think about.

Great Idea. I'll be only too happy to be the first out of the many threads that own commercial sites and link them and plug them on SI even in their profile. No one of ever requested. If tomorrow SI policy changes ACROSS THE BOARD to ban advertising (everyone of course), I'll be the first to remove every single link. No problem, we don't care. No mentioning of signing up, costs, free trials, in headers, come ons, from interviews, pictures from seminars, no LINKS whatsoever. Its probably the best thing. As long as the policy covers EVERYONE down the line, I'M TOTALLY in favor. I suspect though that its other sites that won't like a policy change although we don't care.

We were planning to have a "featured FORUM on SI" that will run simultaneously on our website anyhow as they are allowing commercial sites to do so. We were about to start looking at terms this week as I posted already. But a ban on ALL ADVERTISING, throughout SI is a very good idea.

Is one who sits on a thread(s) with a pay site of their own to be the "leader" of this proposal.. Why, George, don't YOU do it.

No mentioning of signing up, costs, free trials, in headers, come ons, from interviews, pictures from seminars, no LINKS whatsoever. An 'even-handed' ban policy on all advertising is probably the best thing for everyone.

We were planning to have a "featured FORUM on SI" that will run simultaneously on our website as SI is going to be adding this feature for commercial enterprises. I was about to start looking into that this week as I posted already, as we've been waiting for 3 months for SI to begin this service, so its basically amusing that through all this hullaballo, while these few posters were falling all over themselves against advertising (so they say) we were planning this new feature. Its funny really that while a riotous group was shouting "Ban the Bastille" we were already planning this for months.

I've been looking at the viability and terms all along. That's also ideal for our intraday updates for our subscribers, who will have Market Gems, but not quite the same. It will be much better for us. This thread is too 'busy' for them to wade through the many daily posts.

A general BAN on ALL and EVERY kind of advertising is fine policy, excellent. Its timely and the best way to have an even handed policy much like their 'no banner' policy.

If you open a thread for a petition or someone else with credibility let me know and I'll 'post' my signature immediately. My only confusion here is simple. Is one who sits on a thread(s) with a pay site of their own to be the "leader" of this proposal. Why, George, don't YOU ask it. Somehow it might go over better.

AOL maybe 15 or 20? CMVT.. lots of eyes will be focusing on this one the beginning of the week, and ORCL looks like might have problems. One poster mentioned 'AOL' and after checking on it, looks like it will have that triple bottom breakout. Next week is a week for a lot of retailers to report. I especially like TLB.. and HOTT.. but we will see where the trend is headed. My IBM turned the corner nicely and although maybe I'm too greedy with my CMVT already, I can't help but think it will be sliced, diced and quartered. But I will still be very cautious and might just take the rest of the profits before earnings. Of course I had also planned to dump all my puts on Friday morning, but I didn't as the downtrend went into yet another day.

ORCL has probably more downside and AOL, I hope its not too late monday, but if that triple bottom breaks down, the puts for March or even April might be a consideration.

CCMP and DPMI.. take it a 'trend reversal' at a time These are not bad companies, the valuations are high, but at any hint of rally this two Bobbsey Stocks will soar, so treat them with kid gloves. They are 'favored' by the institutions. (But so was NVDA, UTEK, PLAB, MTON and MONE and it didn't hold them up too long)
