Michael- If small traders are record short, then that would have to be considered a bullish sign (regardless of other factors)...however, I seen others post COT (twice monthly statistics, I believe)...that commerical traders are highly short, but small traders are buying calls in large numbers......so, the inverse of what's being discussed...

I do have a hard time believing that we are exceeding (net) the amount of margin from March 2000, since asset values were so much higher..
