Hi Poet,

I too share your concerns regarding this concerted attack that has stooped to the level of criticising someone's supposed personal appearance. These remarks are certainly not the work of a gentlemen in any sense of the word. Moreover, the consistent failure by anyone (I mean anyone on that thread) to meaningfully address some of the substantive issues raised regarding his constant bullish prognostications is disturbing..

I mean you can only yell FIRE! so many times in a crowded movie theatre without being thrown out...

Robert

Yes, Poet ... interesting place and people, no doubt about that.

I just returned from new residence-hunting, as I sold my house to take profits while they exist ... I've mentioned that to you elsewhere so I won't repeat here except to say that some of these upstanding members of this SI community <g> on self-appointed 'bonnuss surveillance crew missions' will soon need to find new satellite aerial photographs to post here of certain 'plots' in Central Texas ... along with other hints as to my personal identification ...

Did you see this on the CFZ thread this evening? I think 'KeepItSimple' should indeed be commended for his or her observations and foresight. Living in the valley ... already seeing real estate go to hell, same as I think will quickly happen here because of the tech concentration ... and sweep the entire country ... maybe I'm wrong about that one and hope I am.

Personally, I'm totally relieved at having 'salvaged' a fair net worth despite this carnage, and the insights/opinions/experience of many posters on boards not controlled by those with their egos heavily invested such and Voltaire and Frank made a big, big difference in my own moves this past year. I thank them all and appreciate how difficult 'going against the grain' publicly in this SI 'community' really is.

Here's KeepItSimple's post for those who don't follow the CFZ .. LOL, I love this snip:

<<BTW- on a pleasant side note, Bay Area real estate prices are plunging faster than a Bre-X executive
from a helicopter. >>

Poet,

I thought I gave you my opinions re: Voltaire's calls here:

Message 15446153

I don't understand how, last year, during a raging bull market, some here thought Voltaire was a great guy, but now that the market has gone against him (and he hasn't changed his opinions to match), he is suddenly "evil" and leading people down the wrong path. What happened to the idea that everyone is responsible for his/her own decisions?

I have never blamed Voltaire or anyone else for my own lousy investment decisions (when they've been bad). Never. Why should I? For that matter, why should anyone else? What is "unethical" about "his regular 'buy' calls in the face of the Nasdaq crash?" Where did he put a gun to anyone's head or offer a guarantee that his opinions or predictions were foolproof? At the same time you and others mock his belief in his own personal "angels", you blame him for the decisions other people make that you assume were his fault. Without any sarcasm or needling intended, why is that?

Incidently, I agree that the CFZ has some valuable information available from some very knowledgeable people (Earlie and AllansAlias come to mind), many of whom mock Voltaire repeatedly. I don't think that means I have to choose sides by either ignoring them or believing Voltaire to be "evil" as others have done.
