Ted,

My final post on this off-topic subject...just felt like debating a bit of politics tonight on the AMD thread...

The factual information I have on the election shows significant voter fraud across the country. I've seen numbers showing the vote tallies in many cities and states, but rarely is the statistical influence of fraud discussed. Statistically, the closeness of the vote makes it impossible to know who won unless every precinct in the country was overchecked with respect to the legally registered voters. I believe the statistics.

In NM, where the vote was very close, about 600 votes total in favor of Gore, two factors helped Gore claim the state. One was natural...it snowed in SE NM on election night, keeping many of the rural, Republican voters away from the poles. That would likely have been enough to swing the state...maybe the Republicans could have figured out how to determine their intent if the Florida counts were allowed.

The second factor was the number of votes cast by people ineligible to vote and/or who voted multiple times in multiple precincts. Estimates for the number of these votes in this state is over 1000, enough to change the outcome. Most of these votes went to the Democrats, based on some post-election anecdotal stories in the local media. One woman called the KKOB Radio Talk show hosted by a die-hard Republican and claimed to be registered to vote in 6 counties, claimed that she voted for Gore in all 6 places. I'd love to say she was someone looking for attention, not someone telling an accurate story. However, there has been an uproar here about the number of multiple registrations and registrations of deceased people. It's known that a number of the dead voted in past elections.

I guess that's enough for now. I guess a closing comment on the media portrayal of the danger of a leaderless country, all I can say is that I don't think the portrayal was unfounded. I didn't think the media should have even talked about the situation. jbk
