When I've position traded over a few days, I'm willing to give back 50% of the first days move. Usually a strong move is followed by a weak rebound as weak short holders cover, at these peaks with good signals, for me at a median line failure, I can add on at this time.
It takes patience to position trade and confidence in your trend following signals.

Another method I've used is to sell contracts in pairs, buying one back on the close of the first day, then add on if the trend holds.
