PS. Since arriving back home, i have been wondering. If Special Forces can begin formal meals and ceremonies with a public prayer, and if congress can begin every daily session with a public prayer, if our money can carry the words "In God We Trust", why can't my grandchildren say a prayer in school?

Because school is something that involves a much broader spectrum of the population, both in numbers and diversity, and so someone from that spectrum has stood up to object and the courts have ruled it right. No one has chosen to or dared to object to those other examples and so no court has ruled. It probably would come out the same way if they did, though.

uw, also a bit off topic. The mother of the best man in my wedding died last week at 82. I attended the burial at Arlington National Cemetery. A very nice service. His father at age 86, still sharp as a tack , had served as commander of the Naval Color Guard in the 1950's and was very taken by the service. We visited my grandfather and grandmothers graves. He had a jeep carrier in W.W. 2. Saw JFK's site.
But the striking part was the endless fields of "little" graves, dated 1969 , 1944, etc... Quite moving and one of the best experiences with my parents in a long while.
To top it off I didn't give a hoot about the market for 2 whole days.

PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF
AMERICA. Later I asked the career SF major next to me how he felt about that toast. He smiled and told me that it was the first time in 8
years that he had actually hoisted his glass and drank to that. He told me they are grateful for the support and leadership that has taken a
dramatic change for the better at the highest levels. He said the attitude change is astonishing at every level.

I guess that the major isn't an investor! Am I better off today, or was I better off 8 weeks ago?! Doubya has sure done a fine job!

If the guy who had won the most votes were in office, they'd be calling for his head. All doubya's done has been to bad mouth the strongest economy in our history.
