Murder is murder. No one kills without hate even if it's his own kind. Are you proposing the death penalty be waved so torture could be used in hate crimes?

I have tried for quite a time now to figure out how to say this without being totally rude. This is my best attempt.

I feel that the U.S. should take a stand against hatred against others that are different

What is your definition of different and what the hell difference would it make if someone is different or not different. More important then that, different then what. Life used to be so simple, you don't hate. No clause, you just don't hate. How simple.

I want the U.S. to show strong values against this madness.

We always used to. When my Grandfather came to America he had to speak English, learn more about this country then most of us now know, get a paying job, and then pledge allegiance to America. From that day forward he was an American, not a Norwegian or Norwegian American, but an American. The day we started hyphenating was the day we became little groups at war with one another. It isn't pride in your heritage, it is divisive and the root of many problems today IMO.

by making specific laws against hatred

That kind of nonsense really pisses me off. We have 9 gazillion laws on the books but lets make it more offensive to kill green gay people then it is to kill black females, which is worse then killing black males which is worse then killing.... Give me a f-ing break. Now we have to fill out a scorecard to decide how vile some murder was?

In the meantime, racial and cultural hatred is causing blood to flow in the streets

Welcome to enlightenment friend. Been happening since before Christ. It's been against every religion that I am aware of since written word, yet it keeps happening. You don't suppose this may be a bunch of dick heads way of excusing their anti-social behavior do you?

What law are you going to pass today that is going to make an A-social psychopath turn down the path of your enlightenment? Right and wrong used to be black and white. There was no grey area. That is no longer true. So I would truly be interested in knowing because the more we excuse this crap the more it seems to be happening. I may be just a hick but I am starting to see a cause and effect thing going on here.
