I agree... We will manage our economy better than the Japanese... Their banking system and accounting standards are not as transparent as ours... They are still carrying assets at pre-recession values on their balance sheets... The people know this, and are keeping their money rather than spending it... Until Japan cleans up its banking system and modernizes its accounting standards they will continue to miss the consumer spending ingredient that leads economies out of recessions... I think we may see a turnaround in the fourth quarter of 2001 in the U.S. economy...
