for a little scalp long : BEAS Selected to Join Eminent FORTUNE e-50 Index BEA's Contribution to
Internet Economy and Strong Financial Performance Recognized by Industry
Experts

SAN JOSE, Calif., Mar 13, 2001 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- BEA Systems, Inc.
(Nasdaq: BEAS), one of the world's leading e-business infrastructure software
companies, announced today that it was added to the FORTUNE e-50 Index (Symbol:
FEX) after the close of stock trading on Wednesday, March 7, 2001. This
announcement underscores BEA's strong financial performance, as the FORTUNE e-50
Index was developed by the editors of FORTUNE magazine to be a key benchmark of
the Internet economy. It lists 50 companies that best represent excellence in
the subsectors of e-companies: Internet Communications, Internet Hardware, and
Internet Software and Services.

The FORTUNE Index Committee distinction affirms the fact that BEA is the fastest
software company ever to reach a billion dollar run rate. BEA recently reported
financial results for the 21st straight quarter of record revenues of $256
million for the fourth quarter ended January 31, 2001.

"We are honored to start our new fiscal year by joining the prestigious FORTUNE
e-50 Index," said Bill Coleman, founder, chairman, and CEO of BEA Systems, Inc.
"This recognition is evidence of the increasing importance companies are placing
on 'future-proofing' their e-business with the BEA WebLogic E-Business
Platform(TM)."

Lee, the name you're looking for is Irene Ryan. I would have loved to have seen the original production. I got to know it best when we did a production of it in high school. Beautiful soundtrack. Did you see Jill Clayburgh in the show too?
