Hi Bernie, I'm not sure people have any more confidence in the Idiot Wave than they do in "vealies", but that's an interesting way of using the IW. Certainly the IW's usually been conservative in its estimates of cash reserves. If my IRA is any way to analyse this, the IW's saying we should be about 25% Cash Reserve right now while I am sitting in a slightly different position at AIM's insistance! aim-users.com Please remember that this account is invested entirely in mutual funds. About half in a mid-large cap and the rest in a more aggressive fund (TWCUX and TWNOX respectively). I'll have to see if I can create a simulation of your suggestion. Certainly the IW's caution a year ago in March was a pretty good call. It's low risk call in late '98 was also. And here we are right now in the middle of the Average Risk range and treading water! Let me stew this idea a while and see if it leads to some good Gravy! Best regards, Tom
