Marxism, at its core, sought to end oppression imposed upon the masses (most people) by an indifferent wealthy elite and a religious hierarchy that was the puppet of these powers, so was by definition democratic - popular, of the people. If you had a clue about it, it was revolutionary in the same way that American's couldn't vote their way out of the English empire. Not evil, but misguided. dem·o·crat·ic (dm-krtk) adj. 1. Of, characterized by, or advocating democracy: democratic government; a democratic union. 2. Of or for the people in general; popular: a democratic movement; democratic art forms.
