Joe, government can screw things up, or help things along.

Greenspan created the bubble, tried to talk it down, but ended up popping it.

The Fed of the late '20s did precisely the same thing, yet instead of easing credit like AG is doing now, they tightened it.

Government may not matter much to you, but in reality, it can hurt or help tremendously in this situation.

Granted, left alone, the economy is likely to do well without government tampering.

Joe, I disagree, all americans do things every day that involve spending decisions, when they see and hear about the failing economy and the N0 1 promoter of doom is the President himself, they tend to delay and slow down spending and spending decisions, this in itself ends up in recessions
