"Betrayal" implies a deliberate intention to sacrifice the well being of his subscribers for his own,

Whatever the language, many that followed his advice were not properly prepared for the downside and feel betrayed. You can't argue with their feelings.

Now if you say he was grandstanding with QQQ to make a name for himself.... betrayal fits but the evidence does not exist to say this for sure. He did spend great effort at "deniability" with no date, entry points, exit points, etc... but Gottfrid gave me a great quote when I was complaining about SI possibly trying to censor A@P the other day: "Never attribute to malice what can be explained by incompetence" So... who the heck knows for sure?

As to people calling to have his show canceled. I call that the "Dr Laura Effect". Half the people listen to Dr. Laura to swear at their radios and write nasty letters to the radio stations to demand she be taken off. I bet ABC loves it that Brinker is getting some of that buzz!

You have to admit that the whole thing is bizarre BUT entertaining. I still find value in what he says so I'll still listen but it is even more fun to "kick it around" some.
