Hi Dave B; What part of "If you find reports that indicate that RIMMs from XYZ company weren't compatible with Intel chipsets, I'll be happy to admit I was wrong." would you like to say doesn't apply to what Jdaasoc wrote?

Before we get too far along with this, we should look up exactly what the problem was.

And we should also note that since DDR MBs are already available from considerably more SKUs on PriceWatch than are RDRAM MBs, it is probable that there are more opportunities for incompatiblities. In other words, if your memory type is sufficiently inconsequential, (like RDRAM), then you can avoid incompatibilities by simply not making enough designs to fully explore the nature of the problem. The one advantage in reliability that RDRAM has had is that Intel has pushed it. But Intel also lost most of the chipset business to VIA over that very error.

Dave, re: RIMM compatibility.
I don't think there were ever any compatibility issues with RIMM's. (I never heard of any).
Had there been any, the Reg. Or Tom's would have jumped all over it, and a search of their sites shows nothing on that issue.
